Events

Curating

  • Organised and curated an exhibition swap between a group of London art students and 5 PhD students in Griffith University, Brisbane. What resulted was two shows: Conduit, a show made up of their work which was exhibited for two weeks at Chelsea Collage of Art’s gallery space The Morgue and also the show THIS WAY UP, which was made of the London-based artists’ works which was displayed for two weeks in The Webb Gallery in Brisbane. 

  • Head curator and exhibition organiser at The Telephone Box Gallery (a student-led gallery within Chelsea Collage of Arts). Thus far we have put on 5 shows between October 2018 – February 2018, including: 10x10cm; Pantone; Photosynthasise; One night only: Eilert Pilarm; and Ana Mandes: Kinky

Other

  • Was the sole organiser for an art fair at Cass Art Islington store, which I also participated in selling in (December 2017) 

  • Screen print got bought and is permanently on display in UAL student halls of residence (Gardens, Peckham Road)

  • Wrote a How To for Cass Art’s blog, titled HOW TO: Get started with screen printing at home (4 July 2018)

  • Wrote an article about my work on UAL’s blog, titled CAMBERWELL CAMEO: Foundation student Joanna Lawn discusses gender and sculpture (15 May 2017)

Other

  • Got involved in a student self-publishing collective, Verve, in which we designed, printed, bound and sold our own books at events that we put book sales we (January – July 2018)

  • Artwork on textbook front cover (Oxford University Press) Oxford Textbook Of Global Health of Women, Newborns, Children And Adolescents” (publicised 2019)
